Finding Water

Finding Water (2023) is a series of sculptures made during a residency in Coyo, Chile.
This work developed from observing how plants in the Atacama Desert survive extreme dryness, in particular the deep root systems that let trees reach water underground. The sculptures are made from desert plants, fabric and string, interwoven and balanced together. Their forms follow the hidden networks of roots and water beneath the volcanic landscape.
