Crystal World

Crystal World (2024) is a series of glazed ceramic sculptures made for Fragments of a Lost Future at White Conduit Projects, London.

These works draw on J.G. Ballard's novel The Crystal World and on geological forms. The glazed ceramic surfaces and structures resemble fragments of a crystalline, mineral-encrusted landscape, where organic and geological forms appear to merge. Ballard's vision of a landscape transformed into a strange, crystalline environment informed my interest in processes of material transformation.
