Glass, aluminium and neon
150 x 100 x 40 cm
This work was influenced by Gestalt Psychology our eye and brain's ability to complete shapes from parts of a whole. A triangle is made up by the reflection of neon in glass and our eye is able to see two triangles. Some of the construction looks permanent and fixed in position and other parts of the structure look like they have been dropped into place and slotted together. This was inspired by Japanese wood-building techniques in architecture.
Shown at the Royal Society of Sculptors in 2017.
